HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados Inc. in collaboration with the Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC) joined with other organisations across the region on Wednesday to stress the need for healthy school environments for children. The Hope for the Future event, a youth-led effort coordinated by HCC and facilitated by civil society organisations across the region, was held in various Caribbean territories on the same day, as advocates sought public support for the implementation or strengthening of school nutrition policies that include regulations on the sale and marketing of ultra-processed products in and around schools. Participants in the day’s activities at the Blackman and Gollop Primary School, including Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, seen here, were invited to sign a board in support of the Government of Barbados’ School Nutrition Policy.
